A Passage through India ( The North)


The tour continues to the northern states of India...


Day 9:  Kovalam / Delhi.

Fly from Trivandrum to Delhi and check into the five star Hotel Jaypee Siddharth.

Day 10: Delhi.


Delhi is the capital of India and the industrial hub of North India. New Delhi was built as the imperial capital of India by the British. It is a spacious open city and contains embassies and government buildings.

After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, begin the day with a visit of Old Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Muslim India between the 17th and 19th centuries and a legacy of mosques, monuments and forts. Explore the Red fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and Gandhi museum. 

Afternoon sightseeing of New Delhi includes the visit of Qutab Minar - a massive tower built to proclaim the arrival of Islam in India, Humayun’s tomb – a fine example of early Moghul Architecture and India gate, followed by shopping.

Day 11: Delhi / Agra.

After breakfast, travel to Agra and check-in to the luxuriant Jaypee Palace Hotel.

Day 12: Agra / Jaipur.


Post breakfast at hotel, drive to the city of Jaipur.  En-route, visit Fatehpur Sikri –built in red sandstone in honor of Saint Salim Chisti, who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar, an example of robust stability combined with originality. Each important edifice here represents a type by itself. Notable among them is the Diwane Khas, Punch Mahal, the tomb of Salim Chisti, and the Buland Darwaza. After visit, continue your drive to Jaipur and check-in to Hotel Clarks Amer.

Day 13: Jaipur.


Jaipur, the vibrant present-day capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the “pink city” for the colour of the buildings in its old city. The buzzing metropolis is a place of wild contrasts and is a feast for the eyes.

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Amber - the old capital of Jaipur rulers. The fort of Amber is a superb example of Rajput architecture, stunningly situated on a hillside, overlooking a lake. Ride on elephants from the foot of the hill up to the gates of the fortress. Explore some more of the city with the Maharaja's museum, the 18th century astronomical observatory and the Hawa Mahal.

Day 14: Jaipur.


After breakfast, the day is free for shopping and leisure.

Jaipur has a plethora of handicrafts ranging from the papier-mache puppets to the exquisitely carved furnitures. Jaipur is especially well known for precious stones and semi-precious gems. Marble statues, costume jewellery and textile prints are other Jaipuri specialities.

Day 15: Jaipur / Udaipur.


Drive from Jaipur to Udaipur and check into the Shiv Nivas Palace.

Day 16: Udaipur


After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Udaipur.

No other city in Rajasthan is as romantic as Udaipur and has been rightfully called the Venice of the East.

Tour Udaipur City Palace, the largest palace complex in the city. The Palace is exquisitely made of granite and marble with filigreed balconies, ornate windows and craftsmanship in glass. Visit the Sahelion ki bari - a garden with fountains, once used for the enjoyment of royal ladies, Bhartiya lok kala mandal- a folk art museum and the Jagdish temple.

End the day with the boat cruise on the enchanting Lake Pichola.

Day 17: Udaipur / Mumbai.


Fly from Udaipur to Mumbai, where we celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner before departing to Bahrain.
